Wasted Smiles

Wasted Smiles

You know the expression “Smile and the world smiles with you”? Well not so much in my experience! I smile at people when I’m out, only to be met, quite often, with a glare or blank-faced indifference.

Steve and I have started talking about all the wasted smiles and this was his response. Sorry Tinkerbell!

Why are we here…?

Why are we here

A couple of weeks ago, there was a storm in England. Not a great big American-type storm, just some really high winds. The powers that be decided to close the bridge that links Essex and Kent, stranding thousands of people in a massive traffic jam, for hours. We hadn’t been planning to visit the mall, but managed to take refuge there – for 9 long hours! By the end, the mall was deserted, half the shops were closed as their staff could not get in, and it started to feel a bit creepy, like we were extras in a horror movie! Still, better than being in the car.

By the way, I love how Steve has drawn Caz having a tantrum like a 2 year old, whilst Stu is smiling cheerfully at the kid in the next car. We all know that in reality, I ate my way through all the sweets I could find, and Steve worked his way through the A-Z of swear words!

Who says romance is dead?

who says romance is dead

I wrote this last year, after one of our not-so-successful shopping trips. This weekend seemed like a good time to use it.

When you have been together for a long time, love tends to be less hearts and flowers and more: What’s for dinner? (Him), or Is THAT what you’re wearing ? (Me). So it’s important to remember to celebrate the special occasions if you can. Happy Valentine’s Day all!!
