King of the Armchair!

King of the armchair

In the midst of all things Star Wars, I wanted to take a moment to remember my first Sci-Fi love, Star Trek. When I was young, Monday nights meant cold meat (left -over from Sunday’s roast), salad and Star Trek. Thank you mum for being a fellow Trekkie, and persuading dad to let us watch it!

We gave our youngest son the middle initial of T so that he would be James T. in honour of Captain Kirk. We worried that he might not be pleased when he found out – but now he says he wishes we had gone the whole hog and made his middle name Tiberius! Live Long and Prosper, Sci-Fi!!

Queen of Munchkin!

Steve is super competitive when it comes to games – he wouldn’t even let the kids win when they were little! I am fairly rubbish at games, so when I find one that I can play – and win – I have to make the most of it! I also used to be the Queen of Dragon Dice and had an impressive army of Coral Elves, but for some reason, nobody wanted to play anymore!!

(Steve is convinced that no one else will have heard of Munchkin or Dragon Dice, so I would be grateful for any comments to prove him wrong!)

Bonfire night!

Bonfire Night Party

Remember, remember the 5th of November….It may seem a bit weird to other countries, but here in the UK we like any excuse for a celebration. So we commemorate the fact that someone failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament, by well, burning things basically – fireworks, bonfires, old clothes that you’re sick of the sight of, it’s all good! Happy Bonfire Night everyone!!
